Not very long ago, Google stepped into the world of media streaming. With half of the world probably using Google services and being the tech giant it is, it doesn’t take long and now Chromecast is apparently the most versatile way to stream your favorite movies, TV shows to your big screen.

Connect Chromecast to your TV, inserting the Chromecast cable in the HDMI port, and your TV is now open to the internet just like a computer monitor where your phone or laptop is the CPU. However you don’t get a remote here and you’ve to use a phone or laptop, just connect chromecast and your phone or laptop to the same Wifi network.

Chromecast almost closes the gap between traditional gaming and internet, letting you mirror your phone or laptop screen completely on your TV, you now play games, see local files or read a document.

Now, you’ve read the article so far and there can be two scenarios.

Which Media Streaming Device Should I Buy?

Media Streaming Devices.png

You’ve probably decided, now, the media streaming device you’re going to buy. If you want most of the good features at an affordable price, Roku Ultra could be the one on your mind. You might be impressed by Apple’s impeccable design and its record on quality so far. Amazon Fire TV Stick modernizes your TV and Amazon Fire TV Cube uses a more futuristic approach. Google Chromecast is like having a big display for your phone, tablet or laptop which you can use to do anything.

Or, you’re now down to two. You still can’t decide the Media streaming device you’re going to spend bucks on. In that case, I advise you to read the preceding paragraph again and then see the specs of the devices you’re more interested in.

However, there’s a lot of people, I find, are confused between Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K and Chromecast Ultra. Well, it’s not that difficult as you might think. Just bear with me.

Chromecast Vs Amazon Fire TV Stick – Which One Should You Buy?

Fire-Stick vs Chromecast.jpg

After a long-lasting feud between Google and Amazon, the efforts to make peace can be seen. A very obvious example of that is the availability of Amazon Prime Video app in Google Playstore and the Chromecast button inside the app. Moreover, Amazon Fire TV users can now use YouTube in it.

Let me make it quite simple for you. If you want a nice, wireless, no chord, high-speed TV experience, Amazon Fire TV Stick is what you want to buy, and Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K if you want a high-resolution display. Both are similar except the display resolution and the latter costs doubles of the former. You wouldn’t need a separate phone or laptop for it though you’ll have the option to cast from them.

amazonfiretv_stick_new.jpg

You can do all of the above with Google Chromecast and Google Chromecast Ultra if you need 4K resolution, but you’ll need a phone or computer for it to work. Using a Wifi network to connect Chromecast and your phone might keep you from high-speed search to watch experience, but this problem is only prominent if you’re using a slow internet connection.

So, it seems, if you are quite consistent with what you’re watching and if you can find it on Amazon Fire TV, you should probably buy it. It has a clean sleek experience and adjusting the volume with a remote is more comfortable. But, if you’re always experimenting( like me), better get Google Chromecast and stay off the limits. By the way, Amazon Prime Video and Netflix work just fine on both.
